Creamy Spiced White Hot Chocolate Recipe

October 10, 2013 Amy 11 Comments

My little face is allergic to regular chocolate and always misses out when we make hot chocolate at the house. I have made him a hot malt drink, but then I thought what about a white hot chocolate for him to drink? He was so excited when I mentioned I would make this warm, smooth and creamy white hot chocolate drink for him. Not only does he just love this, but so does everyone else in the family.

Spiced White Hot Chocolate

Ingredients for White Hot Chocolate Recipe:

3 oz. of White Chocolate
6-8 oz milk (or 1/2 milk 1/2 cream or half and half)
1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (Learn how to make pumpkin pie spice recipe, this can be omitted)
A few drops of food coloring

How to Make Easy White Hot Chocolate:

1. Start by finely chopping the white chocolate. I used little white chocolate chips. This makes the white chocolate easy to melt.

2. Pour about 6-8 oz of milk in a mug. Heat in the microwave for about 2 min. You can also warm this on the stove if you are doing a large batch. Heat until little bubbles form around the pan. Use cream or half and half for a rich creamy white hot chocolate.

3. Once the milk is warm pour into the glass and add white chocolate and stir until completely melted. Stove top add the white chocolate to the pan and stir until completely melted.

4. To spice it up a bit, add 1/4 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice to the mixture and stir. For Halloween I added a little food coloring to make it orange. Two drops red one drop yellow.
