Snacks with a crunch are my favorite type of snack. I just need something to chew and crunch besides greasy potato chips. Nuts are rich in protein to provide a snack that will stick with you. I like to make a batch of these spiced nuts at the beginning of the week for us to grab a quick protein packed snack instead of chips.

Spicy: 2 Tablespoons Cajun Seasoning
Taco: 2 Tablespoons Taco Seasoning
Direction for How to Make Spiced Nuts Recipe:
1. Preheat the oven to 300 Degrees.
2. Beat the egg whites until soft and foamy. Tip: The best way to tell when the egg whites are properly beaten, no more clear liquid will be at the bottom of the bowl.
3. Once the egg whites are beaten fold in the nuts and spices. Make sure the nuts are evenly coated with egg and spices. Use whatever nuts you have on hand.
4. Lay down a sheet of aluminum foil on a baking sheet and spray foil with cooking oil. Spread out the nuts evenly on a the foil.
5. Bake for 20 minutes for raw nuts. For roasted nuts decrease cooking time to 15 minutes.
The egg whites provide and extra level of crunchiness to this spiced nuts recipe we just love. No matter if spicy or sweet is your thing this recipe can be customized to your favorite flavors. I like to purchase raw nuts, so I can use them for any baking or however I might use them. It doesn’t take long to toast them.
