Easy Slow Cooker Homemade Meatballs Recipe

October 11, 2017 Amy 9 Comments

It is a busy night and dinner needs to be quick.

That is why I love my slow cooker. It is a secret relationship, so don’t tell my husband.

With a little preparation I can have dinner ready in just a few hours without babysitting it all day.

Making meatballs is a snap in the slow cooker because you and sit and forget it until dinner time.

Ingredients for Slow Cooker Homemade Meatballs

ingredients for slow cooker homemade meatballs

1 pound ground meat
1 egg
1/4 cup onion
1 cup bread crumbs
1 clove garlic, finely minced
1 teaspoon of garlic salt (more to taste)
1 teaspoon Italian seaonsoning
1 teaspoon of cracked pepper (more to taste)
1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese

Slow Cooker for cooking (this is the one I use)

Directions how to make Slow Cooker homemade meatballs

First start with a pound of ground meat of your choice and then dump into a bowl.

Next add all the other ingredients into the bowl. Just dump them in there.

Now the fun part. Mix it all together with your hands. There really is no other way to do it, except get in there and mix until well combined.

Take heaping tablespoon and roll in your hands until a ball forms. Try not to handle them too much for a soft meatball.

Turn on your slow cooker to low. Place the meatballs in the slow cooker and cook for four hours on low. You can spray the bottom of the slow cooker before placing the meatballs in, but I have never had them stick.

If you are serving with sauce, add the sauce about 30 minutes before serving to heat the sauce and meatballs up at the same time.

Can I just say I love this recipe? It is so easy and quick to prepare and very similar to my homemade meatloaf recipe. My kids love meatballs, so this is a fun and easy week night treat for them. You can serve these with spaghetti sauce over noodles, make homemade meatball sandwiches or with mushrooms and gravy. These can even be made ahead of time and frozen for an easy heat and eat weeknight meal to cook.

I love my slow cooker for dinner too! Late afternoons are always busy, and it’s so nice to have dinner already cooking. I’d never thought of making meatballs in it though. Thanks for the recipe!

This is just the juice after the meatballs have cooked down. You can just drain it off after they have cooked. It really is not a sauce.
