How to Make Peppermint Vodka: Plus Drink Recipes

December 14, 2013 Amy 1 Comment

Since it seems this is the season of peppermint, I have decided to make a peppermint vodka to give a hostess gift. This is a cool crisp drink to be used as a refreshing addition to any cocktail. Peppermint Vodka can even be chilled and simply sipped by the fire.

Peppermint Vodka

Ingredients for Peppermint Vodka Recipe:

6 Peppermint Candy Canes (I used Brach’s since they use real Peppermint oil in their candy canes)
4 Cups vodka
1 Bottle

Directions for How to Make Peppermint Vodka:

Crushing peppermint candy canes

1. Unwrap 6 Peppermint candy canes. Place in a ziplock bag and smash. This is where you can let out a little frustration.

2. Pour 4 cups of vodka into a bottle. Then carefully pour the crushed peppermint candy canes into the bottle. These two steps can be reversed.

3. Shake the bottle. The peppermint dissolves really quickly and turns the vodka a lovely shade of pink. I decorated the bottle with a couple of candy cane’s and a little gift tag. I am going to be giving this as a hostess gift for a party.

Here are a  few drink recipes to make during the holiday and enjoy this peppermint vodka.

Candy Cane Hot Chocolate

Start with a cup of hot chocolate (Peppermint Hot Cocoa if you love really love peppermint)

Add a shot of Peppermint Vodka

Peppermint Patty

1 part Peppermint Vodka

1 part Irish Cream

Fill with Half & Half

With the season of peppermint upon us here is a fun way to enjoy peppermint as an adult beverage. Peppermint Vodka is perfect to make for your holiday party or bring for a hostess gift. Find new ways to enjoy this fun holiday drink by mixing it with all the things you enjoy during the holiday season. Plus this leaves your breath smelling wonderful. You may even get a few extra holiday kisses!

Do you just love peppermint?
