What should I prepare for a party?

First start with a cute backyard party invitation. You can use Facebook or Evite to create your invitation. See how many people are coming.

Then decide on the menu for the party. I like to provide the meat for a BBQ, one side and one dessert. Then I ask the others to bring a favorite side dish if I am having a large party. With everyone with different diets or special request, asking everyone to bring something allows them to bring something they know they can eat. Plus you can find some new favorites, too. I am always surprised with the dishes people bring. The dishes listed above are great ideas to bring to a patriotic party.

What food is good for a party?

Make sure all the food is simple and grab and go. Everything should be proportioned or cut in order for everyone to easily serve themselves. Some great ideas are finger foods or snacks ideas. If you are making desserts, be sure to have them pre-sliced or in individual cups to make it easy to serve themselves.
