More Play Dates Less Shopping

July 15, 2012 Amy 2 Comments

Wow I had a fabulous time this week with my family. I think we are getting into the summer groove. Summer vacation seems to be going by as quick as a hummingbird flaps its wings. I can hardly believe it is nearly half way over. There is still so much more I want to do.

This week was filled with play dates. On Monday we had a double play date with some friends in our neighborhood. They have a son who just turned three and a 10 year old daughter who is friends with my daughter. Both Little Face and Little Miss had friends to play with. We had such a great time playing at their house on Monday. Little Miss was having such a great time she got to sleep over.
On Tuesday a friend needed me to watch her kids while she went to a class. She has a daughter about a year younger than Little Miss and a son three years older than Little Face. They all got along so wonderfully. I found a t-shirt craft idea from Pintrest we were all able to do. I cant wait to share this super easy and fun craft with you on Wednesday. You are going to love it!

To return the favor she watched my children for a couple of hours on Wednesday. They played with a Slip n Slide and were outside most of the time. Which was great because Little Face was so tired he took a long nap. I think I have him back on a good napping schedule again. That may be why I had so much fun this week!

Thursday we didn’t do much, but go swimming. While all these fun things were happening with the kids we have ripped out the tile in the entry way and the carpet in the living room. Yes that is me crouched down scooping up some of the tile debris. Notice the red carpet. I have been so embarrassed living with this awful carpet. I can’t wait to show you pictures of the finished remodel. Now we need something to fill that space, since I am not living with just concrete. We went down to my husband’s office on Friday to look at some tile and have lunch with him. We had fun having lunch with daddy. Both of the kids were so worn out they fell asleep on the way home.

Saturday not much happened except maybe I broke my toe on my left foot. OUCH!

Today I drop my Little Miss off at Girl Scout camp for a week. She will be enjoying riding horses and swimming. I am so excited for her. We made a camp journal for her to record all of the activities she will be experiencing and all the new friends she will be meeting. She is just giddy with excitement.

Now I need to get ready for this week. Maybe I will attempt a meal plan or not. I just can’t seem to get in the hang of that.

Thanks so much Lena! My toe has been throbbing from too much walking today. I put some ice on it and it feels much better.
