Clean Eating Challenge: Week 2 Check in

October 17, 2014 Amy Leave a Comment

31 Day Clean Eating Challenge Title

It has been 2 weeks since you have decided to take the clean eating challenge. Congratulations on making the change! Let’s reflect on our accomplishments and where we need to improve. Let’s give ourselves a pat on the back for all the positive changes we have made, and what we have learned.

I know I feel so much better. I am thinking about my eating choices a lot more and making conscious decisions on the food I am eating. My family is also adjusting quite well with the change. There is something everyone loves in the clean eating challenge.I try to make it a point to incorporate one of everyone’s favorite in to the meals or snacks offered for the week. I am really trying to avoid the “I don’t like that,” or “I don’t want to eat that,” from my kids.

Overall they have noticed some of the changes. I have been open and honest why we are making these healthy eating changes. I have used my reasons for clean eating to let them know why I would love us to eat better as a family. I think this also brings meal time back to the table. We always try to eat dinner together as a family.

I have gone out to eat several times over the past two weeks. I try to make my choices based on the business and the food I eat. I try to choose something with basic ingredients that I know are good healthy choices. I find the low carb options or gluten free options to be close to the clean eating diet. I will help you learn how to eat clean while eating out in a post coming really soon.

Remember it is OK to make a mistake. Everyone goofs up sometimes. Just don’t let one bad decision turn into another bad decision. Take it one day at a time. Then get back on that horse and ride (Texas metaphor here.) You should have a well established clean eating fridge and your clean eating pantry should be coming along. If not, what can you do to change your shopping habits? I would love for you to share any thoughts you have about the past two weeks, good, bad or ugly. Let’s share any thoughts on the Pounds4Pennies facebook page and keep following along on Pinterest for more Clean Eating Ideas.

How is clean eating going for you? Have you lost any weight? Are you feeling better? When are you most tempted to cheat? How can you avoid the temptation and make a better choice? Anything funny happen? Are you reading more labels now? Is this an easy transition for you and your family or a difficult one?
