Sea World: A Whole New World of Adventure

July 14, 2014 Amy 1 Comment

I have been to Sea World in San Antonio five times and I have still never made it to the back of the park until this year. This was a whole new world behind the lake. Our first stop was the Steel Eel roller coaster. My older kids were too afraid to ride it this year, so my husband and I rode it together. This was the first time we ever rode a roller coaster together. Next we visited the penguins and learned more about their chilly habitats. This is a much welcomed relief from the heat.

Enjoy Sea World Rides

A New Adventure

We went to the Animal Connections Conservation Center where we learned about the king snake and the kookaburra bird. There are many other small creatures to view while at the conservation center. Next we rode the Great White roller coaster. This is a thrilling ride and well worth the adventure to the back of the park. My daughter rode this with me and she loved it so much she rode it twice. We will definitely ride this next time we go to Sea World.

The next ride we loved was Rio Loco. The entire family could enjoy this fun rafting ride. My little guy was so excited he was tall enough to enjoy Rio Loco. It is hard to believe we have never ridden this one either. Yes, we were soaked by the end of the ride. Rio Loco is was a great way to cool off on a hot summers day at Sea World. The last ride we enjoyed was the Escape to Atlantis. This does have a surprise element of going backwards then a huge dip at the bottom. My little guy loved this.

Sea World Trash to Art

Throughout the park Sea World has amazing art made from trash found in the ocean. This is an artistic way to show our impact on the ocean with waste thrown out by us. When I seen trash thrown around I do try to pick it up; even if we are at a park. I will ask my kids to pick up one piece of trash and throw it away before we leave. As consumers we can choose to purchase items with less packaging and do our part to pick up trash while we are out. Sea World also helps to keep the oceans clean and safe for animals. Sea World rescues on average animal a day and tries to rehabilitate them to be released back into the wild.

We had a blast with new experiences this year at Sea World San Antonio. We always experience something new every time we visit Sea World San Antonio. That is what makes this a favorite family trip for us every year. We made many family memories and look forward to making many more.

What is your favorite ride at Sea World San Antonio?

We haven’t been to Sea World San Antonio since last summer, so we haven’t had a chance to see the cool art. What a neat concept, and a great way to really jump on a teachable moment to help kids learn about a huge problem – TRASH!!
