Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder optional, stay tuned I'll tell you why
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano Mexican oregano if you can find it
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric optional if you have it, if not skip it
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Look in your spice cabinet and search for all these spices. This is what take so long to make this. I usually quadruple this recipe to have some on hand to use in other dishes besides tacos.
  2. Measure taco seasoning ingredients in a small bowl and mix thoroughly and store in an air tight container. See the Turmeric container in the picture, I use these for my homemade seasonings.
  3. Use a 1/4 cup to flavor one pound of ground beef. Use only 3 tablespoons if you are omitting dried onions and garlic and using fresh.
