Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup packed Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cocoa powder I used dark chocolate
  • 1 cup nuts or chocolate chips you can use half chocolate and half nuts
  • 1 glass quart jar with lid to store the ingredients
  • Wet Ingredients
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. The jar should be packed in this order to get the distinct layers. First mix the flour and baking powder together and layer in the bottom. I use this from my canning set so it doesn't make a mess when loading these jars. Use a spoon to pack the flour in the bottom of the jar.
  2. Next add the brown sugar. Pack this down really well on top of the flour.
  3. Then mix the sugar and the salt. Add them on top of the brown sugar.
  4. Lastly add the cocoa powder. It is best to add this last, since it is so fine it will end up coating the jar and you will lose your pretty sand art effect.
  5. Then on top add the 1 cup chocolate chips for a fudgy brownie or nuts for a crunchy brownie.
  6. To make the brownies add :
  7. teaspoon homemade vanilla extract
  8. eggs
  9. Cup melted Butter or coconut oil
  10. Pour mixture into a well greased 9 X 13 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes for the best brownies ever.
