It is now summer time here in Texas and that means hot dog bar summer dishes time. We love to entertain around the pool during the summer. It is just too hot to cook anything inside this time of year, so we fire up the grill and cook our meals outside as much as possible #startYourGrill. Having a hot dog bar for our guests outside is so easy to whip up a few items for a simple quick dinner idea for a crowd. Parks Finest™ Hot Dogs, found at Tom Thumb, are an excellent choice for the ultimate Hot Dog Bar. It is an art to create your own hot dogs. According to the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council, hot dogs are the number one fan favorite food that fans cannot live without.

Once you have the hot dog in your hand, there is anticipation to see what kind of fixin’s are going to be served.  I start eyeing all the toppings to see what kind of dog I can create. What are all the toppings for the hot dog bar to create the perfect hot dog. I think everyone likes their hot dog made a little differently. I know I will usually eat two and each one will be made using different toppings. I like to provide a lot of options for toppings, so everyone can have the perfect hot dog. Here are several awesome options to serve to be a big hit for a hot dog bar.

Serve chips as an easy go to side. Just to mix things up a bit, I like to find chips with unique flavors no one has tried before. If it is especially hot outside, be sure to serve refreshing drinks to go with the hot dog bar.

Lastly everyone wants a small treat to end the meal. Try to make all natural frozen fruit push pops , or make a big batch of frozen fruit slushies. These fun cool treats will be loved by both adults and kids for your next party.

What great ideas! I like having options. The gourmet dog is a pretty hot topic in certain regions of the U.S. It would be fun to have a contest to see who can come up with the tastiest topping combo

I feel like I seriously need to step up my hot dog game. We have just done plain hot dogs with basic condiments for so long. Thanks for the inspiration to do more.

I like this idea! I normally prep everyone’s hot dog for them and it is SO time consuming. This would be a fun way for them to do their own thing and I might actually get to eat a hot meal at the same time as everyone else for once. 🙂
