I was fortunate to meet Happy Family foods when I went to Bloggy Boot Camp, BBC back in September. Happy Family makes excellent products and organic snack foods for everyone in your family. Happy Family considers their products organic superfoods. I just love this!
I wanted to make the taste test fair and get really good opinions from various age groups for my review of Happy Family food. So that is pretty much the make up of my family. I let Little Face (3), Little Miss (11), Me (??) and Hubs Adult try all of these snacks. My step son was not with us to do the taste testing, but he will try them when he visits with us again.
Each box of organic snacks contains five packages of snack foods ready to add to any lunchbox. These snack foods can even be added as healthy dessert for lunchtime. Fruits make wonderful desserts for the lunchbox, why not give them something organic and good for them too!
These good snack foods do have a lot of NO’s like:
NO GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms)
NO Artificial Flavorings
NO Nuts or tree nuts
These NO’s are a YES in my book.
The Veggie Pals are little bits of goodness similar to fruit chews. They are small little chewy pieces that look like tiny slices of oranges. Too cute! One of these little pouches is equal to one serving of fruit. No added sugar only juices and purees used. This was at the top of Little Faces list. I can tell when he tries to shove all of them in his mouth at once. Hubs thought these were at the top too! Little Miss liked them, but not as much as some of the others listed below. I agree with her, since I like the crunchy ones better.
Can I just say YEAH! They really got this one right. I am so glad Sunny Buddies are made with sunbutter and jelly and no peanuts or nuts. All of their products are from a nut free and peanut free facility. So both of my kids were able to try these too. These are similar to fruit filled mini wheats cereal. Little face eats anything I put in front of him, but I think he really enjoyed these the most. Little Miss liked these. Hubs said he wanted some milk with them.
These are apples and carrot crunchy bits. The Crazy Crunchies have more of an apple flavor and very little carrot taste. Little Face pretty much liked them all! Little Miss said she could taste the carrot at the end, but she liked it. (Don’t tell anyone she ate a vegetable and she LIKED it.) Hubs liked this one too! I thought these might be fun on a salad for some added crunch or mix in some yogurt for more crunch.
Mixed Fruit Yogis
These Mixed Fruit Yogis are freeze dried yogurt bites in two flavors, berry and bananas. We all tried these too and liked how they would just melt away in our mouths. Little Miss and Little Face really liked these the best. I liked these organic snack foods too and so did Hubs.
The store did not have the Yumi Yogis, since they were sold out! So these must be good!
Overall we all liked each one of these organic snack foods. I would buy these as snacks or treats for my kids and send Happy Family Organic food with them in their lunches. The entire line can be found at Target. Way to go Target. With a slightly more limited selection at Kroger and Sprouts.
