Thanks to Grapevine Wine Tours for providing me with a wonderful evening with friends and some great tasting Texas Wines. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this article are my own.
Recently I had the chance to go on a wine tour with Grapevine Wine Tours. I was thrilled to learn about how many wineries there are in Grapevine. While many of the vineyards are located in other areas of Texas many of the wines are made and sold in Grapevine. I was able to sample some great tasting Texas wine while on this fabulous tour.
Texas Wine with Grapevine Wine Tours
When you book a wine tour through Grapevine Wine Tours a bus will come and pick you up at the Embassy suites. There is no need to worry about driving during your tour. Usually it is about an three hour tour. There are two stops at different wineries located in Grapevine and then a dinner is included at a local Grapevine restaurant. The wineries vary on each trip and so does the restaurant.
A Tale of Two Wineries
Two of the wineries we visited were Homestead Winery and Delaney Vineyards and Winery. Each winery offered their own unique charm to the wine tasting experience. The Homestead is a very laid back winery located in an old home. I was amazed at how many wine varietals they had available for us to test. The hardest part was picking a favorite. I enjoy a white wine and I enjoyed the Prairie Rose at Homestead Winery. Then we went back on the bus and visited Delany winery. I was impressed by the vineyards Delaney had on site. Delaney Winery had an old world feel. The grapes grow during the summer months and are harvested in August. They bottle wine on site. We were able to taste several of their best wines here. I enjoyed the tour of the winery and vineyard at Delaney Winery. Then it was off to enjoy dinner.
Dinner in Grapevine
We ate dinner at a great restaurant in Grapevine called WineWood. While we were there, we had three additional wines to sample with our dinner. We were able to choose from a list for a three course meal. I chose salad, salmon and we had a wonderful for dessert. We were in a small private room that offered great personal service.
This was an amazing experience for me. I loved being chauffeured to different wineries in Grapevine on a bus. I enjoyed learning so much about Texas wine. Did you know Texas is the fourth largest wine producing state in the country? I had no idea. I would recommend going on one of these tours. If you book a Grapevine Wine Tour you can receive a 10% discount with the code BLOG10. (exp. 09/01/14) It would be perfect for a date night, girls night out or to celebrate an anniversary. I can’t wait to book my next tour.
